A true horse of the sea, nice job. I saw this on DA and never commented, but I'll do it this time!
The dark clouds behind him are a wonderful touch, specially those behind his head. They really draw in my attention to those areas. The lighter markings on his back and the darks on his body draw my eye down along his legs and into the water which is nice. I spend a little time running back and forward through the water before running back up through the sky and then back to his boy.

I've heard it said, again and again and again, "Never put your subject in the center of the plain." But I think you showed how that rule is broken by putting so many other ballancing (or unbalancing) elements around him. ^.^

Absolutely gorgeous! The shading is great, and the clouds are wonderful! I'm in awe of the skill and time it must have to perfect this picture.
